It doesn’t take much to get some gamers angry but the news that Grand Theft Auto VI is set to be a timed console exclusive is certainly not helping matters.

Set to release some time next year and with its second official trailer expected any day now, Grand Theft Auto VI has cemented itself as one of the most anticipated games of all time.

As the next instalment in the Grand Theft Auto series by Rockstar Games, this new entry will see players return to the beloved Vice City as they take on the roles of newbies Jason and Lucia.

Although the hype has been building for the past ten years since Grand Theft Auto V was released, news of its console-exclusivity have left PC fans feeling disheartened.

It is perhaps unsurprising that GTA VI will be a console exclusive considering this has been standard practice for the series since its origin in 1997.

With the series originally developed for consoles before later receiving PC ports, it seems some fans thought we would just skip straight to the latter.

However, that is seemingly not the case and PC users will have to wait a bit longer than those with the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

As you can imagine, this news has gone down like a lead balloon.

“Well there we go, console exclusivity once again. Can't say that I'm surprised,” one user wrote over on Steam.

“Actually, I believe that I'll be letting GTA 6 go for a few years, completely ignoring it.

I'll be taking VI completely off my radar, and will focus on other games for a while.

I have GTA Online as well as other sandbox game options, so I really don't feel as though I need to bother with GTA VI anymore.”

While another said: “It's so disappointing and greedy. It's Rockstar. They hate the PC market.”

It remains to be seen how long GTA VI will be a console exclusive but it is sad news for PC owners across the globe.
