GTA 5 new update removes offensive feature

Grand Theft Auto has never been the most family friendly game series in the world, but apparently even Rockstar Games thought that one feature, which was seemingly removed from GTA Online’s latest DLC, went a bit too far.

Despite being out for almost a full decade, GTA Online is still going strong. Just last week, the devs added a bunch of cosmetics and in-game events to mark 4/20, because of course they did. However, the feature which was allegedly removed was supposedly meant to be included in the Los Santos Drug Wars: The Last Dose content update, which released last month.

Before we get into it, take a look at some hilarious wins and fails from GTA V below.

As PCGamesN reports, Los Santos Drug Wars: The Last Dose lets players run their own acid lab to manufacture 'acid product' to sell. As it stands, you can change the name of your lab to whatever you want, a bit like an M-rated version of Stardew Valley. However, according to one GTA fan on Twitter, if you look within the game’s files, it seems it was also originally possible to name the product itself.

“A fun piece of GTA Online cut content from the latest DLC: [Rockstar] planned for you to be able to name your Acid Product, not just the Lab. First time naming is free, then it's $5000 to rename. The feature is fully supported and functional, so here's hoping it'll be available next DLC,” @WildBrick142 tweeted. “And by ‘fully’ I mean, it works but appears to be unfinished - the game might not use the name you give it, depending on the Sell Mission. It's also not something that will be enabled with a tunable update. It would at the very least require a background script update to enable.”

Obviously, this feature didn’t make the final cut - we can only assume that Rockstar Games thought that giving players the power to name their own homemade drugs might not go down too well.
