GTA Online got a sneaky 4/20 update, because of course it did

Rockstar Games added a bunch of 4/20-themed bonuses and events for GTA Online players to cash in on this week.

Yesterday, a bunch of new bonuses and in-game gifts were added to GTA Online purely to celebrate 20 April, because of course they were.

As ComicBook reports, for the next week, players can get their hands on free cosmetic items and cash in on a bunch of bonuses to earn extra in-game money and RP. If that’s not really your thing, there’s also two new Deathmatch variants to try.

Before we get into it, take a look at some hilarious wins and fails from GTA V below.

“It’s all going up in smoke this week as reefer madness reaches new highs in Los Santos,” a news post on the Rockstar Games site reads. “Have an out-of-body experience in Short Trips, stack product at your Weed Farm, and collect special accessories and other forms of assorted paraphernalia.”

So, what’s on offer? Just from logging in, GTA Online players can grab a High Flyer Parachute Bag, Sprunk Chute Bag, and a Pastel Green Smoking Jacket. You can complete the Sprunk-themed look by completing any Biker Sell Mission of your choice to earn the Sprunk Varsity Jacket, and receive the Sprunk cap by becoming a Bodyguard or Associate.

For the week, production speeds at players’ in-game Weed Farms will be doubled - completing Biker Resupply Missions will also pay out twice the normal amount of Supplies. If you don’t already have a farm, they’re 30% off this week as part of the event. Finally, players can step into the shoes of either Franklin or Lamar to earn twice the amount of GTA$ and RP on Short Trips.

As for the Deathmatches, Shake Up is a new Free-for-All Deathmatch where players are given a new weapon every time they kill an opponent (or respawn themselves). Meanwhile, Top Marks is a Team Deathmatch, in which you’ll be given both a unique loadout and different radar blip behaviour based on whether you’re tied, winning, or losing. Players can earn three times the normal amount of GTA$ and RP from these Deathmatches all week.

How about that? There’s plenty more to do, too, with extra GTA$ and RP also available to earn via RC Bandito Races and Lamar Contact Missions. Be sure to log in and take a look at everything that’s happening before the week is up.
