Several spooky delights are about to land in Grand Theft Auto Online this month, the first of which is available today.
It’s everybody’s favourite time of the year folks, and I’m not just talking about tax season!
That’s right, we’ve officially entered October, which can only mean one thing: a bunch of Halloween-themed (as in, the time of year, not the film) goodies are landing in Grand Theft Auto 5’s online mode, GTA Online.
Clearly, someone high up and Rockstar Games loves Halloween, because they always seem to go extra hard on the events in October– and this year is no exception.

As detailed on the Rockstar Games blog, Grand Theft Auto Online players will be able to participate in a bunch of different events this month and earn themselves some freebies in the process.
Those of you who have been playing GTA Online since it first released will probably already recognise this returning favourite. Beast vs. Slasher divides players into two teams, with the Slasher team featuring three separate classes (Assault, Demolition and Heavy) with their own unique loadouts.
The Beast team is way more fun, however, allowing players to take on a bunch of different monster-themed roles, complete with their own unique powers.
Plus, successfully completing two waves of Survival (without dying) during the Beast vs. Slasher event will net you a free $200,000 in GTA currency, and a Brown Vintage Zombie Mask.

That final reward is part of another, collection-based reward called the "Vinewood Undead Collection". Completing the first three weeks of the Halloween challenges during October will net you three unique rewards, which, when combined, will automatically give you access to the collection
The Vinewood Undead Collection consists of a “new Slasher Clown Outfit, the rare Please Stop Me Mask, Vinewood Zombie Tee, and the all-over Skulls livery for the Mammoth Avenger”, so it seems like competing in each of the weekly challenges is well worth the effort.
The second challenge takes place from October 9 to October 15, and the third challenge starts on October 16 and ends on October 22, so make sure you keep track of what's coming if you want to claim the free bundle.
There are two more events in October beyond these first three, but they aren't necessary to complete the Vinewood Undead Collection. You'll probably still want to complete them anyway, because there's a collective GTA$1,000,000 up for grabs if you do.

Here’s hoping that they bring the Manhunt-themed masks back for this one too, because it just wouldn’t feel like a Rockstar Games Halloween without them…
