It’s the game that keeps on giving - to celebrate ten years of Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar will be rewarding players through GTA Online. Firstly, yes, GTA V is ten years old. It doesn’t seem so because it has consistently sold bucketloads over the years, but even though Rockstar is ramping up to the sixth instalment, support continues for the behemoth fifth iteration.
Before detailing the anniversary event, Rockstar took the time to thank the “amazing community” for their “incredible support over the years”. There’s a reason GTA V and its online component are so successful and it comes down to “anyone who has ever played, streamed, roleplayed, created, or shared from the world of Los Santos and Blaine County!”
Take a look at this incredible Vice City remaster mod.
To commemorate a decade of play, GTA Online will be offering several rewards including; three new outfits inspired by the central characters of the campaign; GTA V-themed weapon finishes; bonuses on classic game modes and the new Bravado Hotring Hellfire vehicle “ready for your next high-stakes stock car session”.
The event starts 17 September and will take players through a wide range of experiences and bonuses. Players will be able to team up in Contact Missions and The Data Leaks earning extra GTA$ and RP, while also receiving heavy discounts on the in-game store.
In addition to the new stock car, returning vehicles will be available to purchase:
- Obey 9F (Sports, 50% off)
- Bravado Buffalo S (Sports)
- Canis Bodhi (Off-Road)
- Obey Tailgater (Sedan)
The anniversary event will continue throughout September applying discounts for in-game goods, items and vehicles for new and returning players.
The ten year celebration is a perfect time to jump back into GTA Online if you’ve taken a break. With plenty of extra RP and GTA$ this is a great opportunity to bolster your car collection, or kit out your wardrobe.
