In a wild turn of events, our Spartan warrior Kratos appears to find himself coming face-to-face with Jesus Christ himself courtesy of a new fan-made animation.

The God of War franchise has taken Kratos from Ancient Greece in the original series to Ancient Scandinavia in the recent remake but what if he found himself going back to Biblical times? That is the reimagining for one fan-made animation that took a JackSepticEye sketch and ran with it. Taking the Youtuber’s hypothetical situation of Kratos and Jesus Christ meeting for the first time, fellow Youtuber GibbsonTV managed to create a short but hilarious animation showing that very moment.

Check out the God of War Ragnarök - Myths of Midgard below!

Created in Blender, the scene shows our Greek goliath coming face-to-face with the Messiah and... not being very impressed with what he finds. “Do you think after Kratos is done with the Norse gods, he’s going to go and fight Jesus?” said JackSepticEye in his God of War Ragnarök playthrough. “He’ll just show up and be like “Why is he just a guy? Why is he just a balding middle-aged man?”

The animation is incredibly well-made with Kratos seemingly speaking these words himself with a less-than-impressed look on his face. We then see Jesus whip out his magic trick of turning a glass of water into wine before Kratos says, “I-I killed dragons before this.” The animation ends with the camera panning to a dead dragon in the background. It is safe to say Jesus would have to do a lot more to impress the God of War himself.

This is yet another reimagining of the adventures Kratos could find himself on in the upcoming God of War sequels. With fans wanting him to explore Ancient Egypt as well as other ancient civilisations, it remains to be seen where Santa Monica Studio will take Kratos and Atreus next. Let’s just hope he doesn’t bump into Jesus on the journey.
