Fans of Ghost of Tsushima, and it's stellar sequel, could very well find a wealth of enjoyment in this Japanese adventure from the folks who gave us Dark Souls and Elden Ring.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, made by Fromsoftware, may have first emerged in 2019, but it has held onto its acclaim since then and proven to be one of the finest action games of that decade.
Known as one of the hardest games from the developer, it has stood the test of time purely because of its easy to approach combat and engaging gameplay loops.
Ghost of Tsushima is a very different beast, but these games have roots in a similar legacy, one that stretches back through the history of Japan.

Fans of the PlayStation title may have just polished off the story of Atsu in the sequel, Ghost of Yotei, and be eager for more sword clashing boss fights.
Well, if you’re not afraid of a steep learning curve and seeing the same boss over and over again as you fall victim to their blades, then this is the one for you.
While it is known for its tremendous difficulty, Sekiro has also become a game adored by its fans and amplified by streamers and speedrunners who find the most ludicrous ways to beat the game.
Taking on the evils of a supernatural Japan, and armed with just a katana and some handy consumables, players battle their way through amazing fights with samurai, and even a giant ape.
As the name suggests, you will die many times, but therein lies Sekiro’s charm, for those of a masochistic leaning.
I’ll freely admit that while I love watching the game in action, my attempts at playing showed just how terrible I am at parrying and dodging, leaving me bloody and battered.
Others have the skill to take on the world, and it would be remiss of me to not give credit where it’s due.
Sekiro is a masterpiece to those who adore brutally hard soulslikes. It’s steeped in lore and pays homage to ancient Japan through sumptuous art direction and world design.
Though fans have been begging for a sequel, it doesn’t seem we’ll get one, though there is an anime adventure on the way should you want to watch rather than play.
