Harry Potter is hopping (this will be funny later) back to the Epic Games Store for a second time this month, as a newly announced Fortnite crossover event has just been revealed.
The Game Awards were host to a few surprises last night, but the one that got a lot of folks the most excited was the announcement that Hogwarts Legacy is currently free on the Epic Games Store.
However, it seems that the Hogwarts Legacy reveal was a prelude to another big Epic Games/Harry Potter crossover, as Geoff Keighley himself spilled the beans on an upcoming Fortnite collab.
Geoff warbled on about some Harry Potter-themed “back bling” so fast that I barely caught any of it. Thankfully, the official Fortnite Twitter account just announced exactly what we have to look forward to (and by “we”, I mean you).

“Something magical is brewing…” @Fortnite revealed in a Twitter post this morning (12 December).
“Unlock the Chocolate Frog Back Bling before it hops away AND get ready for customizable Hogwarts house-themed Outfits in the Shop later this month!”

Of course, as was the case for a lot of things that were announced at The Game Awards, the upcoming Harry Potter / Fortnite collab actually leaked some time ago.
In fact, we knew about this one all the way back in November. Dataminers discovered that skins and “mythic brooms” would be landing in Fortnite during the 2025 Fortnite Winterfest event (thank you to Dexerto for the source).
Still, at least now we have confirmation that the skins will (at least) be based on the uniforms for each of the individual houses in Hogwarts.
Personally I think it’s a shame that this means we won’t be getting a skin of PS1 Hagrid, but I suppose that would be asking for too much.
More interestingly, however, is the fact that this deal was clearly put in place before Warner Bros announced their sale (and subsequent purchase to Netflix).
Even Neil Druckmann himself made a tongue-in-cheek joke about his “new overlords” when accepting the award for Best Adaptation last night, so it’ll be interesting to see if this collaboration between both Epic Games and Warner Bros continues once the Harry Potter IP is fully transferred to Netflix.
Oh, wait a tic, didn’t Netflix's Gregory Peters say that they "actually didn't attribute any value" to Warner Bros' gaming portfolio earlier this week? Nevermind, guess you guys better buy your Harry Potter Fortnite skins while you still can.
