Far Cry meets Resident Evil and Call Of Duty in new FPS

There’s an upcoming FPS game coming to Steam that looks like the perfect mix of Resident Evil and Call of Duty, and we certainly can’t wait to see more.

Games like Resident Evil have had such a big influence on the world of gaming. With it being nearly three decades since the original, plenty of horror games inspired by it have cropped up since.

Similarly, Call of Duty’s Zombies mode has also been a big influence on the horror shooter genre, with it now being one of the series’ most standout features.

The Duskbloods is the new Switch 2 exclusive from FromSoftware.

The upcoming four-player co-op shooter Projekt Z: Beyond Order looks like a good mix of the two, and we’re excited to see more.

In Projekt Z, you play as one of four characters, each one playing a distinct role in co-op with their unique skills. There’s deep weapon customisation and a free roam element to it too.

“Experience the intense action of battling the undead in this thrilling first-person zombie shooter with robust character progression and extensive weapon customisation,” the store description reads.

“Set around World War II, take on fast-paced missions or explore the terrifying island in Free Roam mode as one of four survivors, each with their own unique abilities and role in four-player co-op. Shoot, loot, craft, survive.”

It seems as though the game will have a series of linear missions, which then open up to accommodate a free-roam element between these missions.

It’s during these segments that you can find extra loot, upgrade your character, and take on side missions.

As well as that, you’ll have a customisable home base which you can return to and upgrade over time. The more upgrades you get for it, the better equipment and weapons you can get.

It seems like Projekt Z has a lot going for it, and it’ll be interesting to see how it turns out. For those who wanted Call of Duty’s Zombies mode expanded into more of a standalone game, this could be right up their alley.

Projekt Z: Beyond Order will release on PC via Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S some time in Q2 2025.
