If you’re looking forward to Resident Evil: Requiem and are liking the gameplay of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 you’ll probably like this game too.

Resident Evil: Requiem comes out next year, February to be exact, but it feels like a world away, and you’d be forgiven for getting impatient.

For fans of Capcom’s survival-horror though you’ll likely find many other games that carry a similar vibe.

Rules Of Engagement is one of those games, but while it seemingly captures the horror of the Resident Evil series it combines it with the fast-paced shooter gameplay of the Call Of Duty series. In many ways it’s like one big game of Call Of Duty: Zombies, what could go wrong?

The game’s Steam description goes into a little more detail, saying “A new gold rush has begun. In this Tactical RPG Shooter, you are a Strider, an elite operative sent into the Grey State to retrieve priceless artifacts. Craft your own build, survive nightmarish creatures and rival squads, and get paid. This isn't about saving the world. It's just business.”

Plot-wise it sounds interesting enough and it sounds very similar to games like Escape From Tarkov, so if you’re into titles like that this one might be your cup of tea. This does of course mean that it’s a multiplayer title first-and-foremost, the main enemies of the game will be other players so if you’re looking for a PvE game this won’t be it.

If the words aren’t doing it justice too you can see more of the game on YouTube through its reveal trailer but also its gameplay trailer, which shows the player’s character coming face to face with several creepy monsters.

One that particularly stood out to me was a tall, humanoid thing with nothing on its face, very Slenderman-like. There are also some lovecraftian tentacles scattered about the place.

It looks pretty good, and those who’ve already watched the trailers seem to agree as they left several comments talking about it.

“I think it actually looks kinda fun. Def captures the overall cosmic horror mixed with top tier military vibe. Plus the cinematic trailers were quite well done IMO” read one of the comments.

Another added “SCP and Creepypastas mashed into a FPS... Dammmn”

Rules Of Engagement doesn’t currently have a release date attached, but if you’re interested keep an on its Steam page for details on its launch.
