Medal Of Honor Meets Call Of Duty In Impressive Upcoming FPS

Hoothanes has just released a six-minute trailer for The Defiant, an upcoming FPS title set to release sometime in the future.

The Defiant was revealed last year with a rather interesting but short teaser, and after spending a year in relative silence, it now has a really cool six minute trailer to show off.

The Defiant’s new trailer demonstrates some gameplay, as well as showing off some of the gorgeous environments and animations that Hoothanes has developed for it.

Set during the Second Sino-Japanese War, The Defiant details several skirmishes between resistance fighters in China battling Japanese invaders across various frontlines.

As Hoothanes puts it in the trailer description, The Defiant delivers “battlefield immersion, tactical gunplay, gritty realism, and character-driven storytelling,” but it hasn’t got a release date attached to it yet.

The Defiant Doesn't Have A Release Date Yet, But It's Looking Rather Polished

The trailer shows off The Defiant’s realistic graphics, using the power of Unreal Engine 5 to portray authentic depictions of snow, woodland, warehouses, and factories where you’ll be doing most of the fighting.

Some of the weapons featured in the game include bolt action rifles, submachine guns, light machine guns, and handguns, as seen in the trailer. It really does look quite gorgeous, watch it below and see for yourself.

The classic Hanyang Rifle, the legendary Mauser Military Pistol and MP18 Submachine Gun are represented in the trailer, but there are many more which will appear in the final release.

“You’re stepping on the land irrigated with warm blood,” reads the official game description for The Defiant. “Boundless snowy forest, heavily guarded lanes, dangerous villages behind the enemy lines... In these places you’ll experience the serious atmosphere during the War of Resistance against Japanese invasion.”

Given its exciting first-person shooter gameplay, it looks like The Defiant might be a good one for Call of Duty and Medal of Honor fans to enjoy. It has a focus on cinematic storytelling and historical authenticity, which is something both of those series did quite well in their early entries.

The Defiant doesn’t have a set release date yet. With the game looking rather polished already as it is, it’s possible that it could be seeking a 2026 or 2027 release.

However, Hoothanes has not said anything about when to expect a release date yet, so we’ll just have to be patient and wait for news to be announced.
