The Flash: fans want Elliot Page to replace Ezra Miller

The Flash: fans want Elliot Page to replace Ezra Miller

Make it happen

It's become pretty clear in recent months that Ezra Miller shouldn't continue to play The Flash in DC's cinematic universe.

Miller's first full appearance as the scarlet speedster came in 2017's Justice League, with a long-gestating solo movie having been in the works since even before the superhero team-up movie.

The Flash, starring Miller, is currently slated to release in cinemas next year. However, numerous troubling accounts of Miller's behavior over the last year have called into question whether Warner Bros. should proceed with Miller in the role - and even whether the movie should get a theatrical release at all.

While it remains to be seen how Warner Bros. and DC choose to handle the release of The Flash in 2023, I can't imagine Miller will be invited back to star in future projects. Naturally, then, the question turns to who could replace them.

One of the names that's been coming up more than most is none other than Elliot Page, who you'll have seen most recently as Viktor Hargreeves in Netflix's The Umbrella Academy.

As you can see below, there's a huge amount of support at the idea of Page stepping into Barry Allen's shoes for future DC movies, with one fan rightly pointing out what an "inspiring" moment his casting as such an iconic character would be for the trans community.

Having just finished up The Umbrella Academy season three and once again being bowled over by how good Page is, I could totally see him as the fastest man alive. Let's just hope Warner Bros. is paying attention to what the people want.
