The Fallout TV series has been hailed as the gold standard when it comes to live-action video game adaptations, which is why the production team is already speeding ahead for a third successful season.
Season 2’s finale was quite the cliffhanger and we’re excited to see what’s on the cards next, as the show will seemingly be adapting one of the most deep-cut Fallout stories yet.
It’s not just the production value, performances and attention to the game’s lore that’s continuously amazing fans though. It’s the speed.
Production on Fallout Season 3 has already begun and filming will start later this year. Some new and exciting faces will be joining Lucy, Maximus and The Ghoul, including Breaking Bad and Star Wars: The Acolyte stars.

While a release date hasn’t been shared, many are speculating it’ll drop early into 2027 or over the Summer.
That’s quite a pace considering Season 2 dropped just in time for Christmas in 2025.
Fallout fans talked about the TV series on Reddit, calling back to an older post from Meme Extreme suggesting the show’s creators “don’t want to keep fans waiting” for the next chapter.
This of course led to some playful jabs at Bethesda, like one from Beginning-Advisor-47 which said: “At this rate we're gonna get season 5 before Fallout 5.”
“‘Dont want to keep the fans waiting’ Meanwhile Fallout 5:” added Maleficent_Royal9672.
Despite Xbox apparently being keen to get more Fallout games made in a shorter timeframe, Bethesda is currently working solely on The Elder Scrolls VI. As we all know that game was first teased back in 2018 and we haven’t heard a peep out of it since, which doesn’t bode well for Fallout 5.
Unless Xbox forces Bethesda to hand the reins over to another developer, you’re not getting another new Fallout game for quite some time.
That’s a crying shame too because when both Fallout seasons dropped on Amazon Prime the video games got massive surges to their playercount. It’s clear that gamers want a new Fallout game and yet we’re seemingly years away from actually getting one, possibly even a decade.
Our only hope is those rumours of a Fallout 3, or even Fallout: New Vegas, remaster have even a shred of credibility to them.
Like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered they could tide fans over while they wait for a brand-new game.
In the meantime it seems like Amazon is happy to continue pumping out new seasons of the Fallout TV series as if the world depended on it.
At this rate Beginning-Advisor-47’s “season 5 before Fallout 5” joke could be downplaying things. We could be on Season 10 of Fallout by the time Bethesda wakes up from whatever development coma it’s currently in.
