Fallout Season 2 might have ended but the story is still very much in play, and there’s already an update on Season 3 to share.
Spoilers Ahead For Fallout Season 2, You’ve Been Warned
The final episode didn’t even attempt to tie everything up into a bow for us, and I’d have honestly been impressed if it did.
There are so many story threads and I’d imagine they’ll eventually converge for the true finale of the series, whenever that may be.
Advert
For now Season 2 ends with Lucy and Max in the heart of New Vegas, the NCR is back but the Legion is on the way, and Mr House is presumably on hand to either help or sabotage now that he finally has access to cold fusion.
The ghoul on the other hand is on his way to Colorado, and hardcore fans will have noticed instantly how significant that is.

As explained beautifully by IGN, Colorado is actually the setting of a cancelled Fallout game called Van Buren. The project was shelved in 2003 but would have been the first game to bring the series into 3D before Fallout 3 was even in the early concept phases.

The plot was relatively simple and saw the player battle a new villain called Doctor Presper, who believed the only way to save the world from the nuclear wasteland was to, checks notes, nuke it again. I’m assuming this idea stems from the “have you tried turning it off and on again?” approach to problem solving.
While we don’t expect Fallout Season 3 to follow this canned storyline it might take some inspiration from it, which will be really exciting to see.
When Is Fallout Season 3 Filming?
Based on previous seasons it’s believed Fallout Season 3 will drop sometime in June 2027.
Filming is set to begin later this year and then there’ll be a lot of post-production involved where CGI is added, scenes are cut, etc.
Sounds like a long time but it’s roughly the same amount we endured whilst waiting for Season 2, and upon reflection it really wasn’t that long till we got more Fallout-y goodness.
I’m very excited for Season 3 and while Colorado will be an interesting setting to explore and most excited about staying in New Vegas for a tad longer, as it feels like there’s still a lot left to see that Season 2 just couldn’t fit.
