The second season of the Prime Video adaptation Fallout is finally here, and it's safe to say that the show has picked right up where it left off, as Lucy, the Ghoul and Maximus continue to make their way through life in a world that has been all but destroyed.
Though we didn't get to see what Maximus is up to in the first episode of the show, we do get plenty more of Lucy and the Ghoul, as they attempt to track down the latter's wife and child and bring the former's father to justice for his crimes against the people of Shady Sands, as well as Lucy's poor mother.
As the former vault dweller follows her father's trail towards our inevitable arrival in New Vegas as an audience, it quickly becomes clear that he has little empathy for the people of the post-apocalypse, and that's what brings us to the resolution of one of the New Vegas game's most enduring mysteries.

Vault 24 Finally Gets Some Background Lore
Part way through the first episode of the second season, Lucy and the Ghoul come to Vault 24, with the door open and clear signs of abandonment inside, with leaks everywhere, lights not working and plants starting to take back control.

Those of you who are really up on your New Vegas lore will know that Vault 24 was originally intended to feature in the game, something we know thanks to a Vault 24 jumpsuit in the game files.
As first reported by PC Gamer, we now have a true resolution to what this vault was meant to be and what went on in there, given Vault-Tec's penchant for doing terrible things to people.
The big twist of the vault is that it is inhabited entirely by communists, which is pretty weird given how much Fallout America hates them.
Specifically, the twosome come across several individuals who have been strapped down to chairs in front of constantly looping communist propaganda. They also discover a living male who has one of House's strange mind control chips in his head, which explodes shortly afterwards.
Though we don't quite know if this is true, it seems the show is intimating that the vault was used as a testing ground for said control chips, with the idea being that if they can get Americans to like communists, then they can basically persuade them of anything.
It's a very strong start for the season, and with New Vegas still to come, don't bet on this being the last thing the show resolves.
