The release of the Prime Video Fallout adaptation as a legitimate part of the canon for the franchise opens it up to all sorts of potential pitfalls in the eyes of fans who have been studying the games for years.
There's so much established lore within the Fallout franchise that it's a genuinely big job to come into that so late, as the writers of the show, and create a product that's not only faithful visually, but also in terms of storyline.
Now, the second season is heading to New Vegas, some nine years after the game of the same name, and it's set feature some of that release's most iconic characters, including Mr House, played by Justin Theroux.
Whilst we'll have to wait and see how they handle introducing such an iconic location into the show, it's actually the appearance of another of the show's characters in Fallout 76 that has raised a big question about the plot.

The Ghoul in Fallout 76 May Have Caused a Bit of a Plot Hole
If you don't play Bethesda's flagship MMO Fallout 76, then you might not be aware of the fact that the game has just been through one of its biggest ever updates. As part of that, the Ghoul has been added to the game as a quest giver, with the role being retained by actor Walton Goggins.
As Fallout 76 is set in 2102, that is some 194 years before the events of the show.
While that isn't a problem in and of itself, his main goal in the adaptation is to find out if his wife and child are still alive somewhere, somehow.
Over on Reddit, under a post about the Ghoul's appearance in the game, one user pointed out that him randomly being in Ohio is a bit of a plot hole that the writers will need to fill.
"I love that Cooper Howard, a character that is told to be constantly looking for his family, f**ked off to Ohio for a few years and did basically nothing," the comment reads.
Now, there are absolutely ways they could fill that.
He could have, for example, headed to Ohio in order to chase down a lead or a piece of information about his family's whereabouts.
Though with the intro to the first season showing them in LA as the bombs drop, it would be odd if they somehow ended up in Appalachia. Someone with useful tidbits may well have done, however.
In any case, we won't have to wait too long to find out more about exactly what happened in the lead up to the bombs dropping, with the first episode set to drop on 17 December.
