Fallout 3 is severely slept on when it comes to Fallout games, but if you want the best experience possible play it on Xbox.
While we wait for Fallout 5 there’s nothing to do but replay some of the older games, which for console users is only Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76.
These are all great options, with Fallout 76 in particular being a completely different game to when it first launched.

Fallout 3 is the one that we’re talking about today though, as it’s very easy to dismiss since it’s probably the least impressive of the series.
It doesn’t have to be though, after all it was Fallout’s first game in 3D and defined what the series would be in the coming years, and if you play it on Xbox it’s actually much better than you probably remember it being.
The Xbox Series X automatically gives older games a boost when it comes to resolution and framerate, which for Fallout 3 is an absolute game changer.
“The loading times, the fps boost, the quick resume past the loading screen straight into your loaded game. It's beautiful” said one fan on Reddit.

Xbox does the same thing for the other Fallout games of course, including the best of the bunch Fallout: New Vegas which the second series of the live-action show is taking inspiration from, but Fallout 3 is so criminally underrated you need to give it another go.
Luckily there are rumours that Bethesda is working on a remaster of Fallout 3, much like the recently released Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
Given how fans are still waiting for the next Elder Scrolls game as well as Fallout 5 it’d make sense to please both camps with two awesome remasters, and none of the games deserve it more than Fallout 3.
