Fallout fans, brace yourselves, we may be on the verge of a new game announcement.
It's been ten years since the last single-player Fallout game, and in that time we've heard of nothing in an official capacity regarding when we'll get to play the next one in the series.
Sure, we've had new Fallout 76 expansions to enjoy in the meantime, but players will always yearn for a new single-player title set in post-apocalypse America.
There have been various rumours and leaks over the past few years suggesting that a new Fallout game has been in early development. From a potential Fallout 3 remake to a brand new game, pretty much all the rumours have been covered by now.

I imagine the sudden interest in the franchise following the debut of Amazon's Fallout TV series has woken up a few of the top heads at Bethesda.
With the second season of the show due to air later this year, now would be the perfect time to announce a new Fallout game. And a new rumour could possibly suggest that this announcement could take place this week.
For starters, Thursday marks Fallout Day for Bethesda. The publisher will be holding a special broadcast for the series on that date, and it's possible that we may learn about the next game then.
However, another thing that may be significant regarding this is that Bethesda has recently teamed up with beverage company Jones Soda to release a wave of limited-edition Nuka Cola Quantum drinks for Costco customers.

The promotion is available to any Costco customers living in the Northeast region of the United States, though it's possible that availability could be expanded to other regions in due time.
Bethesda and Jones Soda last teamed up for this special collaboration in 2015 to celebrate the release of Fallout 4. I'm not one to put on a tinfoil hat, but this feels pretty significant.
So, it's possible that we may be getting a new Fallout game announcement later this week. Whether that's Fallout 5 or a spin-off, remake or remaster remains to be seen.
Personally, I think we're way too early for a Fallout 5 if Bethesda Game Studios is developing it. The developer only really works on one main game at a time between its two major franchises, Fallout and The Elder Scrolls.

So with The Elder Scrolls 6 still being in development, we're probably looking at a Fallout spin-off, or a remaster of an earlier game.
Fallout 3 or New Vegas would be a good shout. They're the two most popular titles in the series, and New Vegas will especially be getting some big attention over the next few months due to it being the setting of Fallout Season 2.
