Fallout 5 is on many players’ wishlists right now but unfortunately it’s several years out, possibly even a decade.
The Elder Scrolls VI is Bethesda’s next mainline title and we’re led to believe that development on Fallout 5 won’t start until the next Elder Scrolls game is out in the wild, but there’s surely been some planning and concept designing in the meantime.
The Elder Scrolls VI is yet to receive a release date but rumour has it it’ll be out in the next two or three years
As a Fallout fan myself I feel the pain, but I’d rather have an excellent Fallout 5 than a rushed one so developing one game at a time with a full team rather than multiple with smaller teams feels like the right call from Bethesda.

That said, there is something Bethesda can do to make the wait for the next Fallout game more bearable, and it’s already done it for The Elder Scrolls VI.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered dropped to thunderous applause last month, with many referring to it as the gold-standard for what a remaster should be.
If Bethesda would be so kind, it could give Fallout 3 the same treatment to tide us over before the fifth game comes out.
Fans reckon this is already happening too as a Reddit thread discussing the potential remaster said “according to the same documents that leaked the Oblivion remaster Fallout 3 is next.”

“I would die if there's a FO3 remaster of this quality level. I've been playing TES IV remaster today and it is phenomenal” said another.
Others speculate that the best time to drop a Fallout 3 remastered would be after the second season of the TV series airs, which wrapped filming just the other week.
Given the success of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered it seems only fitting that Fallout 3 would get the same treatment.
