Is this another one of those Fallout secrets that’s previously passed you by? If so, you’ll want to stick around to learn where to find this treasure trove of loot.

Fallout 4 has numerous ways to keep you second guessing every location you visit – there’s just so much to explore, even on your second or even third playthrough.

Take this sneaky reference to one of the franchise’s best characters as a fine example of that.

Consequently, you might have missed this spot the same as other players before you have.

On Reddit, a user who’s since deleted their account, posted, “I realised today how neat a location the mole rat den under the Red Rocket is.”

What's the one thing you can do to improve your Fallout 4 experience? We have an idea...

Not only does the OP remark on how “well crafted” the area is, but they also said, “There's some unique elements that you don't see elsewhere in the game, like that old power generator and stuff like that.”

Excuse us, the what den under where?

“There is a mole rat den beneath Red Rocket? WHAT?!” asked a fellow player. “Adding this to the list of things to do when I play the game again.”

Someone else said, “Have put hundreds of hours into FO4 since the day it came out and just found this location yesterday. I had even read the terminal and just wrote it off as a little tidbit of lore the entire time.”

Okay, I’ll admit that I knew about this location. However, I didn’t find it on my very first playthrough of Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic adventure.

Much praise for this early game location was shared among the fandom, with Redditor WastelandPioneer commenting, “Almost every modern Bethesda game is worth scouring over the early areas because they're packed to the brim with stuff like that.”

You might not walk away over encumbered from what you find, but the “loot” is that of the dedication the development team put into this environment (as well as a few decent items).
