Fallout 4 players just discovering genius combat trick we never knew about

A handy tip to know before your next playthrough

Prime Video’s Fallout series is positively fantastic, and incredibly deserving of its recent Emmy nominations.

Unfortunately, the only awards the TV show managed to bag were the ‘Outstanding Music Supervision’ and ‘Outstanding Emerging Media Program’ accolades but that’s perhaps to be understood.

Fallout was up against Shogun in the major drama categories and as much as I love Fallout, Shogun is easily the best thing I’ve watched this year.

One thing Fallout succeeded in doing was encouraging me to venture back into the world of the acclaimed Bethesda video game series.

I wasn’t alone in that. Millions of players redownloaded, or downloaded for the first time, Fallout 4, Fallout: New Vegas, and Fallout 76.

In fact, the TV show timed nicely with the launch of Fallout 4’s new-gen update.

The game has grown a tad quieter since then.

Instead, Fallout 76 recently took the spotlight with the Skyline Valley update - and don’t forget that ghouls will become playable in another update next year.

I want to focus on Fallout 4 though today, as many players are just now discovering a very handy combat trick that I’m sure you’d find helpful.

We played snog, marry, irradiate with the cast of Fallout. Take a look at the video below.

This tip comes courtesy of Reddit user Mrcyndaquil62 who wrote, “If you want aggroed subway protectrons to stop attacking you, you can reverse pickpocket a subway token in them”.

I’ll be honest, I had no idea you could do this and I thought I was pretty well-versed in Fallout 4’s ways.

User Poultrygeist74 responded with, “Never knew that, but isn’t it easier to just kill them?” making a good point but as a couple of people pointed out in reply, not if you’re playing survival.

“Yeah I learned the hard way they attack you if you can’t pay the fare. I always carry a token in my inventory now,” added goawaynothere.

So there you have it - something to keep in mind during your next playthrough!
