Fallout 4 has a hidden boss we never knew about

And he drops some useful loot

It may be almost a decade since Fallout 4 was first released but if this latest discovery is anything to go by, players are far from discovering all the RPG has to offer.

Released in 2015, Fallout 4 is the fourth main instalment in the much loved RPG series by Bethesda which sees players take on the role of a post-apocalyptic survivor.

Despite Fallout 76 releasing in 2018, it is considered as something of a standalone/spin-off in the series which means it has been almost a decade since a major Fallout title was released.

However, thanks to the success of the television adaptation earlier this year, Fallout has had something of a resurgence in recent months and has seen players both old and new return to Fallout 4.

So it is perhaps unsurprising that new discoveries are being made, including this one by a user over on r/Fallout.

“Who is this guy?” They asked.

“Randomly ran into him in around level 63.”

The image provided shows a “boss” enemy known as Absalom and it seems as though this is quite an elusive foe to run into.

According to a fellow Reddit user, this guy is a hostile Raider who drops some interesting loot.

“Absalom is a named, immediately hostile Raider,” they explained.

“He only appears once if you kill him, through a random encounter, and the big prize is his full suit of leveled Combat Armor, which is really good armor until you can find excellent Legendaries.”

The user goes on to explain that the loot provided scales with the player’s level.

For example, if you fight him later on in the game, you will get Heavy Combat Armour. However, if you fight him early-game, he will drop standard Combat Armour.

However, the standard set is still good for low-level players so he is a useful enemy to kill whenever you stumble across him.
