The Elder Scrolls 6 is still years away, but a new tease has got fans feeling frustrated at the long wait.
Earlier this week, Bethesda unveiled and released The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
The reveal came with a 20-minute presentation showcasing the new graphics, features, and audio. It's basically almost like getting a brand new Elder Scrolls game.

The video also featured interviews with many developers at Bethesda and Virtuos, some of whom worked on the original release of Oblivion back in 2006.
The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced back in 2018.
At the beginning of the presentation, Bethesda head Todd Howard appeared on screen to discuss The Elder Scrolls as an entire series.

"When you think about The Elder Scrolls, to us it goes beyond a game franchise. Obviously, we're working on the sixth chapter here, but what's great about The Elder Scrolls is being able to look back at all of the chapters."
Howard's mention of the sixth chapter obviously refers to The Elder Scrolls 6, which was announced way back in 2018 but hasn't been mentioned as much in recent years.

"At least it's something," wrote a post on the Elder Scrolls 6 Reddit page. "Glad to hear him mention it at least in some capacity. I don't know if they'll continue to build upon the momentum of Oblivion to announce something during the Xbox Showcase.
"You’re not going to hear anything from Bethesda until the games really close to release," a comment underneath the post wrote. "I think they know if they don’t show the game with gameplay, people are gonna freak out about them having another announce trailer after the 2018 trailer."
Another comment possibly gave The Elder Scrolls 6 as the reason for why the Oblivion remaster even exists, writing: "I think Bethesda were probably worried that TESVI would fall a bit flat with the casual side of consumers due to it being 15+ years between entries. Smart move to get TES back in the public mind 2-3 years before release."
It sounds about right. The last major single-player Elder Scrolls game was 14 years ago when Skyrim first released in 2011.

Back then, the game had an incredible amount of hype, despite it only being 5 years between that and Oblivion.
With The Elder Scrolls 6 still being a few years away, I'm afraid the internet might have a little bit of a meltdown when that eventually gets revealed.
