'Elden Ring' Infamous Bugged Item Is Now A Must-Have For PvP

Elden Ring's latest update fixed a lot of bugs and glitches, including one which stopped a particular item doing what it was supposed to.

Earlier this week, FromSoftware’s open-world behemoth Elden Ring got hit with a new update, which brought with it some pretty significant changes, as well as a whole bunch of improvements to game stability and balance. Beyond the newly added ability to send summoning signs to multiple summoning pools in distant areas, and the function to invade a bigger area, many players were relieved to discover within the patch notes that one of the game’s most notorious weapons had finally been hit with a nerf.

Before we get into it, be sure to take a look at some of Elden Ring's wildest mods in action below.

The katana weapon Rivers of Blood is now much less of a threat than it was before, thanks to some changes to its skill, Corpse Piler. The damage and bleed build-up when hit with the blood attack has been decreased, as has the damage when hit with the blade (slightly), so it's good news for anyone sick of being invaded with this thing, bad news for anyone doing the invading.

If your PvP plans have been scuppered by this though, fear not. As reported by Kotaku, one of the game’s items, which, up to this point, has been bugged to the point of it being a bit too circumstantial for many players to bother using, has now been fixed, and is super powerful as a result.

The Opaline Hardtear (obtainable by defeating the Putrid Tree Avatar in Dragonbarrow, Caelid), has always sounded pretty great on the surface as it “temporarily boosts all damage negations in Physick”. Until now, however, it’d only temporarily negated elemental damage but with the new update, it provides a sweet 10 percent damage negation as well as the elemental negation, which is pretty fantastic - players will undoubtedly be able to make much better use of it than they could before.
