Dying Light players can claim a free download simply for playing the game, and it’s well-worth grabbing while it’s available.

The freebie is available for players on Xbox, PlayStation and PC via Steam, and will reward them with a Golden Buggy skin for use in Dying Light: The Following, an expansion to the base game that can be played as a standalone adventure if you wish.

Check out Dying Light below.

If you’ve never played Dying Light before, you absolutely should. It’s one of the best zombie-survival games ever made, and sees players navigate an infected city, hunt for supplies, and take on several different enemy types as you solve mysteries, help those in need, and generally try to stay alive. The twist is you’re given a variety of parkour skills to keep a good distance between yourself and the zombie hordes. During the day, the infected are slow and a non-threat, but when the sun sets, new infected emerge who are stronger, faster and more aggressive.

Dying Light: The Following expands on the events of the first game, swapping the city for wide open fields, which is where the buggy comes in.

In order to claim the Golden Buggy skin for your game, all you need to do is set up a Techland account via its website, input the code “goldenbuggy” then navigate to your profile to link whatever platform you have the game on. It’s unknown if the skin is transferable to multiple platforms so pick the one you use the most just to be safe.

Once you’ve done all of that, you can tear through the countryside in style with your shiny gold buggy, mowing down the infected and looking glamorous while doing it, literally slaying.

If you like the first game and The Following, you should absolutely check out Dying Light 2, especially nowadays following all the quality-of-life improvements the last few updates have introduced.

The Dying Light series is available on Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms.
