New 'Doctor Strange 2' Trailer Confirms Return Of Two Important Marvel Characters

A new trailer for Doctor Strange 2 has seemingly confirmed the return of Wanda's twin boys, tying into WandaVision's post-credits scene.

Not to alarm anyone, but it’s less than a month to go now until Doctor Strange is not only in the Multiverse of Madness, but also in cinemas. Thanks to a load of pandemic-induced delays, fans have been waiting quite some time for the highly-anticipated sequel, but rest assured we’re in the endgame now.

We already knew that Doctor Strange 2 was set to feature some really exciting cameos, including Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor X. Now, a new TV advertisement for the movie, featuring brand-new footage, has strongly suggested that two WandaVision characters will be making their return, and could be playing quite an important role in the plot.

Check out the brand new Doctor Strange 2 TV trailer right here.

Now, there’s some stuff to discuss here about what this teaser might mean for the plot of Doctor Strange 2, but it contains spoilers for the Marvel TV series WandaVision, so if you’ve not seen that and want to keep away from any pesky knowledge of the show, scroll away now. If you want to, anyway, I’m not going to make you. But consider this paragraph to be your sufficient spoiler warning.

As reported by ComicBook, the new trailer focuses on Doctor Strange and Wanda both having recurring nightmares, with Wanda’s featuring her two sons who she lost at the end of her series. Now, this could link in perfectly with a tease from the post-credits scene of the show, when after going off to study the Darkhold in her astral form, Wanda hears the twins cry out for help, implying that they’re alive and out there, lost somewhere in the multiverse.

Despite its popularity, a second season of WandaVision is still yet to be confirmed, so it could well be that Marvel have decided to follow up this plot-point in Doctor Strange 2, and it’d make total sense if they did, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is out in cinemas on 5 May in the UK, and 6 May in the US.
