Some people like horror films. I’m not one of them. The Walking Dead is about my limit when it comes to horror. A light dashing of creepy. Jump scares? No. Possessed beings? Put that thing back where it came from or so help, so help me. Today though, I have a real treat for you horror lovers.
Horror fans have been well catered to in recent weeks. Many deemed new release Terrifier 2 to be the scariest film of all time after it left cinema audiences throwing up and passing out. Why would you want to do that to yourself? Gruesome horror film Creep 2 was recently added to Netflix and boasts a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score - plus there’s the new Netflix ‘mindf**k’ Hellhole. Now though, horror fans are raving about a film that’s reportedly worse than Human Centipede, Tusk.
Check out the trailer for Tusk below.
I haven’t seen Human Centipede, nor do I ever plan to, but everyone knows what it’s about. Essentially, a bunch of humans are sewn together creating a - you guessed it - human centipede. In Tusk, the protagonist is turned into a walrus which could quite easily be the premise of a wholesome Disney film but it’s a darker tale than it may sound on the surface.

Starring Justin Long, Tusk was actually released back in 2014 but after originally flying under the radar, the film is now getting a ton of attention thanks to TikTok. Created by A24, Tusk is described as, “A chilling horror tale about the perils of storytelling. Tusk follows a brash American podcaster as he braves the Canadian wilds to interview an old man with an incredible past - only to discover the man’s dark secret involves a walrus.” Specifically, the man wants to turn the podcaster into a walrus via surgery. Weird.
TikTok user itsheidiwong said, “This movie was worse than Human Centipede to me.” During the writing of this article, I read a synopsis of the movie and then regrettably looked at an image of the walrus. Dear reader, I wish I hadn’t - and now I’m going to go and cleanse my mind by watching Elf or something equally festive - but if you like to disturb yourself, Tusk is the one for you.
