Daniel Radcliffe announces he's having a baby with partner Erin Darke

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has announced that he is expecting his first baby with longtime girlfriend Erin Darke. A rep of the 33-year-old star confirmed the news to US Weekly.

There’s been news aplenty in the Wizarding World as of late. It was revealed that Hogwarts Legacy players have cast Revelio a whopping 100 billion times. I’m pretty sure I can account for 10,000 of those. Interestingly, only 25% of players have actually completed the game but that’s comparable to similar single player titles. That open-world grind is too tempting. Let’s not forget that the game is still due to launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles on 5 May, and on Nintendo Switch on 25 July. As exciting as this is though. Radcliffe’s baby news is hands down the most wholesome news to come out of the franchise in a long time.

As reported by our friends at UNILAD, Radcliffe and Darke have been dating for more than 10 years after meeting during the filming of 2013’s Kill Your Darlings. Radcliffe is, of course, best known for portraying Harry Potter in what is one of the biggest film franchises of all-time. In recent years though, he’s starred in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, The Lost City and Escape From Pretoria. Darke is also an actor, best known for her work in Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

The couple recently worked together on Miracle Workers, an anthology comedy series. Both starred in the show but Radcliffe also served as an executive producer. Speaking about the experience (via UNILAD), Radcliffe said, “We definitely like [working together], but it’s not something we want to do all the time. Hopefully we’ll get to do more in the future, but we also both write so maybe we’d write something together at some point, and that would be cool.”

Radcliffe is the second of Harry Potter’s main trio of stars to become a parent. Ron Weasley actor Rupert Grint welcomed his daughter Wednesday G. Grint back in 2020 with his partner Georgia Groome - yes, named after The Addams Family character.
