Cyberpunk 2077 is definitely a game best enjoyed in first-person, as you can really take in the beauty and detail of Night City.

Third-person mode is better for driving I’d say, because I don’t know about you but I always treat the navigation like GTA V and end up missing my turns because of it, definitely a skill issue but whatever, I digress.

The point is Cyberpunk 2077 is a gorgeous, gorgeous game, but if you’re bored and fancy seeing it from a different perspective here’s how you can do it

Mods baby, mods. While most of the Cyberpunk mods you’ll find are best-suited to graphical improvements and adjustments to the gameplay there are a few out there that give the game a third-person mode when you’re out of a vehicle.

This is something CD Projekt Red didn’t include in the finished product, likely for a good reason and not just because the game needed polishing after launch.

Either way it’s here thanks to talented modders and it sort of works well, albeit a bit janky in places.

If you fancy seeing an example look no further than YouTube, specifically a video that shows off several reworked animations to fit a third-person camera.

Now I won’t say it’s perfect as again it looks a little janky and it’s clear the player’s model wasn’t built to be seen from this perspective. I’d imagine combat could get a little difficult and frustrating too.

Nevertheless it’s a good example of what could be on the way, as we all know CD Projekt Red’s Project Orion is the next Cyberpunk game, and if the studio is looking to add new features to the game a third-person mode might be a good place to start.

Personally I’ll be sticking with first-person, as Night City is one of the few open-worlds I’ve played in where I really do like to stop and take in the minor details.
