Cyberpunk 2077 'incredible' new third-person mode is a hit with fans

A fresh perspective

Cyberpunk 2077 now has a third-person mode, and unsurprisingly, it’s a hit with fans.

When Cyberpunk 2077 launched back in 2020, it was pretty infamous for having an immeasurable number of bugs, performance issues, and design flaws.

One such problem that a lot of players had was the fact that the game didn’t have an optional third-person mode. I mean, for a game with such interesting character creation, it’s a shame that there are limited chances to actually look at your character.

Although it seems like CD Projekt Red isn’t going to officially let you play in third-person any time soon, a new mod will do it for you.

Rather confusingly named “JB - TPP MOD WIP third person”, the mod does exactly as it says on the tin, and introduces a fully playable third-person mod to Cyberpunk 2077.

“The new third-person mod for Cyberpunk 2077 is incredible,” reads a post on the Cyberpunk game Reddit page. “Seeing how NPCs look at your character and how you interact with the world from a new perspective is amazing.”

Some comments agreed, saying it adds a fresh point of view to the game.

“I might try this game again with this mod,” writes one commenter. “I never understood the point of customizing V if I can't see them.”

“I need to become a PC gamer,” another comment reads.

However, other fans in the thread were torn, with some saying the mod doesn’t really add or do anything substantial.

“I downloaded this yesterday just to see and IMO It also looks and feels nothing like Cyberpunk anymore,” a commenter wrote. “I don't know, it's like if Bethesda cared when making Neon... I stand by my sentiment; god I hope Orion is first person.”

If you’re a Cyberpunk 2077 player on PC, it’s worth checking out the mod to see for yourself. You may love it, you may hate it.
