CD Projekt RED has dropped a surprise update for Cyberpunk 2077, available to download and enjoy now.
Although, perhaps we should stop being surprised by such content drops; CD Projekt RED has clearly demonstrated that it just can’t leave this game alone - and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
It’s Patch 2.31 that you’ll want to be looking for.
It’ll likely auto-install when you turn on your console or PC, or may have already installed if you keep your console on Rest Mode.

It’s always worth checking, however, to see if you are playing the most up-to-date version.
To confirm, the update is available across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Mac, and Nintendo Switch 2.
As for what it does, well, it mainly applies a couple of small changes to AutoDrive and Photo Mode.
In Photo Mode, most of the poses added in Update 2.3 should now work with any gender.

NPC collision has also been disabled, making it easier to position them on top of other objects, like car hoods.
When it comes to AutoDrive, if you’re heading towards a selected point, the vehicle will now drive smoothly, overtaking blocking vehicles and no longer stopping at traffic lights.
In Free Roam mode, the mechanic has also been upgraded to follow traffic rules and navigate the city more reliably.
Alongside this, several vehicle bugs were fixed along with a number of quest and open-world issues.

Mac and PC specific glitches were also addressed; you can view the whole list in the update’s patch notes.
As you’ve likely gathered, this is by no means a life-changing update, but I’m personally thrilled to see CD Projekt RED still tweaking and upgrading the Cyberpunk 2077 experience.
And I’m certainly not alone in feeling that way.
“NPC collision being removed is a main thing I always wanted! Amazing work folks,” wrote Twitter/X user CanadianZarPics.

“Fantastic news about the NPC collision in the PM,” agreed KeenEyeVP.
“Just out of nowhere. Thank you kindly,” stated TRettsch.
Alongside the grateful replies, some concern was displayed over how this might break or affect mods.
Well, quite a lot of concern, if I’m being honest, but there’s no need to panic.

As CD Projekt RED pointed out, if you are using a mod that is broken in any way by Patch 2.31, you can roll back to the previous version of the game, 2.3, via both Steam and GOG.
