A new mod for Cyberpunk 2077 has fixed one of the game’s biggest stealth immersion issues.

While CD Projekt Red has been pretty great at fixing many of the issues prevalent in Cyberpunk 2077, there have still been a few problems that have yet to be addressed by the developer.

One such bug is that NPCs can spot dead bodies from through walls, an issue that has been in the game since Update 2.0 released in 2023.

In the base game version of Cyberpunk 2077, alerts can be triggered from a single corpse, even if they’re behind cars, cover, or solid geometry. This often happens immediately after loading a save, which can be frustrating for players.

The Silent Bodies mod for Cyberpunk 2077 aims to fix that, adding a proper line-of-sight validation to corpses before an NPC can react to them with an alert.

Silent Bodies Is An Excellent Addition For Stealth Players

The way it works is rather simple: when an NPC is about to be alerted by a corpse, the mod performs what is called a ‘raycast’, which is essentially establishing a line of sight between the NPCs eye and different parts of the body, such as head, torso, or lower body.

If none of these raycasts can establish a clear path to the body parts, the alert is cancelled and will be performed again at the next opportunity.

This all results in, as mod creator NullPointerExcy states, “stealth plays as expected, no more psychic corpse detection, fewer false alerts, and cleaner stealth runs.”

Silent Bodies also has an optional distance limiter, essentially allowing the NPC’s line of sight to behave differently at longer distances.

There are more settings you can tweak with the mod too, such as being able to adjust eye height, ray offsets, target heights, and max distance.

There’s also an option to enable or disable at will, as well.

If you'd like to download the mod, you can grab it from Nexus Mods now.

This is NullPointerExcy’s first mod for Cyberpunk 2077, but they have previous experience with creating The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim mods in the past.

Some of their previous mods for Skyrim are along the same lines as this Cyberpunk mod, which includes Dynamic Wetness to make characters appear wet when in water, rain, or snow, and True Faction System, which adds a dynamic disguise and faction recognition system to the game.
