If you’re a dedicated fan of CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077, then you’re perhaps going to want to acquire the title’s latest collaboration as soon as possible.
CD Projekt RED has teamed up with DPI Merch and Zing to create the incredible Cyberpunk 2077 Valentino Thermal Katana, which, yes, is a 1:1 replica of “Night City’s most in-demand weapon”.
The orange replica sword is 47 inches long and comes complete with a Cyberpunk 2077 display stand; it’s also important to mention that it lights up thanks to nifty orange LEDs and makes sound effects, so you can safely but accurately slash away.
“To outsiders, the Valentinos seem a violent street gang covered in tattoos, jewellery, and flashy gold cyberware,” begins the katana’s listing.

“Best to steer clear… But to those who dig a little deeper, you’ll find a fiercely loyal and protective community that values the bonds of friendship and family above all else. Once you’re welcomed into the fold, you’re treated like one of their own.”
It continues, “Their personalised take on the thermal katana is a perfect symbol of their way of life: bold and expressive but always ready to strike. And when you wield it, you can feel like a local at El Coyote Cojo.”

The sword arrives in three pieces, which, it’s stated, you can easily assemble with “one-time locking attachment points”.
As for those sound effects, “an integrated sound chip blasts immersive combat audio straight from Night City”.
Whether you want this one to display on a shelf or it's the perfect final piece to an upcoming cosplay, the Valentino Thermal Katana is likely to be high in demand.
As this collectable is based upon a weapon, it’s listed as being suitable for those aged 17 and above.
The product, it’s noted, cannot be shipped to the Netherlands, Switzerland, Japan, or Australia.
If you live anywhere else in the world, you’re in luck.
The Cyberpunk 2077 Valentino Thermal Katana can be pre-ordered on CD Projekt RED’s official gear store, which is based in Europe.
It’s currently available for pre-order with units expected to ship in July. The replica will set you back €144, inclusive of tax.
That’s not a cheap purchase by any means, but I’ve seen gaming collectables that cost almost four times that, so it’s not the most expensive treat out there.
Is a replica katana going to erase our impatience regarding the fact that Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, Project Orion, remains many, many years away? Absolutely not.
But somewhere out there, there’s someone who will delight in the whimsy of pretending to be one of the Valentinos.
