There is no denying that Cyberpunk 2077 is already a pretty realistic game but one creator has gone above and beyond to give it a next-gen hyper-realistic refresh.

Released in 2020 for current-gen consoles and PC, Cyberpunk 2077 is already a beautiful game.

Cruising through Night City will see you witness the metropolis’ neon lights spilling onto the rain-soaked streets and the towering skyscrapers stand over the city like sentries.

Although the CD Projekt Red title is already beautiful, creator NextGen Dreams has pushed it to its limits by DreamPunk, a graphics overhaul mod which brings Cyberpunk 2077 to 8K.

Available to purchase via their Patreon page, this hyper-realistic mod does just that, makes Cyberpunk 2077 look as much like real-life as possible.

By utilising the newest technology available, NextGen Dreams has achieved the best photorealism I have ever seen and it seems as though others agree.

In a video posted to their Youtube page to showcase the mod in action, it wasn’t long before viewers shared their disbelief over the results.

“I'm 41 years old. I had my first Amiga 500 in 1989 and my first GameBoy in 1990,” one comment read.

“We've come a long way. Can't wait what we're gonna enjoy in 30 years from now.”

Another said: "If someone showed this video to me 30 years ago, when I was playing my SNES, and said to me this would be the video game from the future, I swear I'd think it was some kind of alien technology.

Not in my wildest childhood dreams I thought it would be something like this…

And we, probably, have NO IDEA about how games will be in 30 years the same way.”

If you want to run this mod yourself, you are going to have to have a strong GPU but there is no denying that the results would be worth it.
