The global impact of Cyberpunk 2077 deserves to be studied, as its initial launch and following redemption are known throughout the world and has even made national news on a few occasions.

CD Projekt Red’s dystopian future game has even been immortalised in New York's Museum Of Failure.

Despite all of that it’s still here though, and while support for the game has concluded fans still have a few things left to look forward to, mainly collaborations with other games.

Next year, Cyberpunk 2077 will collaborate with the free-to-play open world action role-playing game Wuthering Waves, though the details of the collaboration haven’t been revealed just yet.

It was announced a few months ago and ever since fans have been speculating what it could involve. It’ll likely include some characters from either the game or the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, as well as a new quest or two.

Some fans have pitched their own ideas, like making the “perfect dodge now activates the sandevistan” and “Adam Smasher as a hologram boss.”

Others have theorised on how the two worlds might interact, after all they’re very different to each other.

“It's speculated that the collab will be released when New Federation is out and with the little info we have so far both look kinda similar so I expect less echo fight and more of an "human" conflict” suggested one fan.

“Cyberpunk is centred around anti-corporatism, and a dystopian setting so I can see them copying those themes’ said another before continuing “Calcharo is a gang leader that will probably mirror gangs such as Maelstrom, Tiger Claws etc.”

Honestly it’s a very unexpected crossover and it’ll be interesting to see what becomes of it. Then again CD Projekt Red has a great track-record when it comes to surprising us with collaborations such as this. When Monster Hunter World came out CD Projekt Red joined forces with Capcom with a new quest tied to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The expansion saw Geralt travel to the world of Monster Hunter in pursuit of a beast.

Cyberpunk 2077 also got another surprise earlier this year when Guilty Gear: Strive added Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners to the game as a playable fighter, complete with moves inspired by the series and world of Cyberpunk 2077.

The Cyberpunk 2077 and Wuthering Waves collaboration will drop in 2026, so hopefully we hear more about it towards the end of the year.
