A wild new horror game is coming from publisher Fireshrine Games, and it looks to be taking the world’s fascination with A.I. to another level.

A.I.L.A. is a first-person horror game that gives off the sci-fi vibes of Cyberpunk 2077 but with dingy and brooding aesthetics.

For more spooky horror vibes you should check out the Silent Hill 2 remake

According to the Steam page for A.I.L.A., this game puts the player in the shoes of a game tester who is suffering from horrific and surreal experiences.

The game you’re testing is created by A.I.L.A. which uses your deepest and darkest fears as material for the game.

From the looks of the imagery and trailers, the game begins to bleed into real life for our tester, and soon you’ll find yourself running from danger and even maniacal cults.

It seems the developer, Pulsatrix Studios, has taken a few pages from the rulebook created by horror films like Saw.

It’s got that kind of style - there’s sci-fi elements in the A.I., but also the eerie and run down environments that fuel the Saw franchise.

A.I.L.A. is currently listed as releasing for Steam, so PC players will be able to get their hands on this one.

Powered by Unreal Engine, the developers are creating a very photorealistic adventure here, utilising technology like Lumen for impressive lighting effects, and Metahuman for detailed character visuals.

The game looks and feels impressive, and as a horror fan, I’ve added this to my wish list to see how it shapes up.

It’ll be great if the developers manage to nail the pervading sense of A.I. taking over everything, while offering a human sense of horror.

There’s no release date set for this one at the moment, but hopefully we’ll have more news on this exciting horror game soon.
