Cyberpunk 2077 Hides Hilarious Trick, Those Poor NPCs

So cruel

Cyberpunk 2077 players can play a particularly heinous prank on some of the citizens of Night City, proving once and for all that video games turn us into delinquents.

Morality is quite an important part of Cyberpunk 2077 as every character has something that drives and motivates them, few for the right reasons.

Johnny Silverhand himself doesn’t hide his intent when he outlines his plan to topple Arasaka, saying he’s not doing it out of nostalgia but vengeance instead.

As the player, we can determine what causes V fights for and what kind of methods they use to achieve their goals. This can then be undermined for comedic effect by turning a barbell bench press into a guillotine.

In case you didn’t know the quick-hack mechanic can be used to interact with unexpected parts of the environment, not just enemies.

For example the ferris wheel down by the pier can be activated with it but if you want to get more devious you can try this instead.

Near V’s starting apartment you can find a gym and like most of Night City it’s been “improved” with technology.

You’ll find one NPC doing a bench press with what looks to be a Smith Machine, that uses an internal computer to determine the weight you’re lifting.

You’ll find videos out there of players finding this and realising you can quick-hack to put it into overload, with the weight quickly becoming too much for the lifter to bear as the bar plummets down and crushes them.

While the comical, Hitman-style kill is funny, I think the funniest part is how disinterested the nearby NPCs look when it happens… I know CD Projekt Red ran out of time when it came to development but you’d think they’d at least flee in fear or shout about the man who just got decapitated on the bench.

Off the top of my head I can’t recall if there’s anywhere else in the game that you can do this so for them to include it is a nice bit of attention to detail. Like I said before though there are quite a few interactable parts of the environment if you keep an eye out.

Cyberpunk 2, as it’s currently named, is in the early stages of planning / development and if the team is given enough time to cook I’m hoping for an open-world filled with more details like this.
