Cyberpunk 2077's final free update includes hundreds of new quests, items, and features

Update 2.0 is on its way to Cyberpunk 2077 and it'll include new vehicular combat, a revamped police system, and new missions.

The free Update 2.0 is on its way to Cyberpunk 2077 very soon, and CD Projekt RED have released fresh details on what's included in the major content refresh.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty marks the release of the franchise’s first major expansion. It’s also the last expansion we’ll see for Cyberpunk 2077, as CDPR devs shift their focus to the next instalment in The Witcher series. Don’t forget that a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, codenamed Project Orion, has already been confirmed to be on the way. Phantom Liberty will mark the return of Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand, but it’ll also introduce Idris Elba’s mysterious Solomon Reed. Back at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, it was revealed that many of Phantom Liberty’s upgrades will come to Cyberpunk 2077 for free - and now we’ve got a much better idea of what’s included in Update 2.0.

Take a look at Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty in action below.

If you watched the shiny new trailer above, you’ll have a pretty decent idea about what’s coming in Update 2.0, as well as in Phantom Liberty. The update is set to introduce: redesigned cyberware, redesigned perks, a new relic skill tree, revamped police system, new vehicles, new vehicular combat, mounted weaponry, an increased level cap, and endless new ‘dynamic events’.

Update 2.0 will also introduce overhauled combat AI. Devs teased that, for example, you’ll be able to deflect bullets with your katana or yeet enemies away using the sheer might of your very own foot.

If you pick up Phantom Liberty, you’ll obviously also benefit from a new storyline and district, as well as ‘dozens’ of new side missions. Phantom Liberty is due to launch on 26 September. Update 2.0 is scheduled to release on an unknown date prior to then.
