Johnny Silverhand is back in the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 and players have reacted to the return of the cherished actor Keanu Reeves and his infuriatingly likeable rebel to the streets of Night City.

Announced on 6 September, the expansion contains a new explorable area as well as new characters, all centring on the New States of America faction. However, it will not come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and game director Gabe Amatangelo has stated that update 1.6 will be the final major patch for last-gen hardware due to the team's focus on current-gen, but they will continue to ameliorate the smaller systems in the game.

Take a look at the trailer here:

"Hey everyone, Johnny Silverhand is coming back and so am I," said Reeves, who plays the rockerboy, after the trailer hit the Internet. "Get ready for Phantom Liberty, the upcoming expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. It's awesome to be back playing the role of Johnny, and I hope you're excited to see him rocking out once more in the dark future."

How do the fans feel? Expectedly, they are thrilled that Reeves is back on board. Seeing that Silverhand appears as an engram of his physical self following his death at the hands of Adam Smasher, it's not known when this DLC is set. Irrespective of those timings though, players are happy that the character is wreaking chaos with V once more. "I was genuinely excited when I heard Johnny's voice on the teaser," said Reddit user TheRealPotoroo. "Same feeling that the first time during the E3, exactly. Same goosebumps," replied Elurztac. "Usually when a game has celebrity voice talent, they usually only have them for the base game. But Keanu is just a humble human being. He’s truly devoted to his role and this project. I’m glad he came back," added samusfan21.

Given that the game has been through the wringer and then some, it's uplifting to see the fans in good spirits for the upcoming DLC and new escapades in the worst place to live in the world in 2077.
