Despite CD Projekt RED claiming that it was done with development on Cyberpunk 2077 back in 2024, it seems as though that could not have been further from the truth.

Thanks to the Polish studio teaming up with Virtuos, frequent major updates have regularly been released over the past year and a recent announcement could reveal that another is on the way.

Since it was first released back in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 has gone from a glitchy disaster to one of the best RPGs of all time and it is thanks to CD Projekt RED’s tireless work.

By regularly releasing updates, patches and brand-new content, the game has gone from strength to strength and it seems though there is still plenty more to come.

However, this recent update offers a slightly more cryptic announcement.

Posted to the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account, a recruitment ad for the NUSA (New United States of America) has been shared by President Rosalind Myers.

Myers, who plays a prominent role in Phantom Liberty, states that her government is on the lookout for “brave netrunners to join our efforts and overcome this grave threat".

The announcement mentions 4 September 2025 but as this does not reference any in-game event, fans believe that CD Projekt RED itself could release something later this week.

Since it was revealed, players have been putting their heads together to work out what this could mean. Could it be a new DLC? Another new update? Is there a code hidden in the message?

“What could this mean?” User KreciQ asked.

Another user added, “Oh sh*t, don't do this to me, I don't want to get hyped and be disappointed when it turns out to be nothing.”

With just two days to go until we see if this reveal means anything at all, let us hope that something big is coming for Cyberpunk 2077 so we have yet another excuse to return to the streets of Night City.
