Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 "incredible" campaign praised by fans

Early access to Modern Warfare II's campaign is open and fans are already blown away.

Early access to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II’s campaign is officially open, if you’ve digitally pre-ordered the game that is. Everyone else will have to wait until 28 October although that’s not a long wait now. Modern Warfare II’s beta period proved to be both the most popular and the most successful beta in Call of Duty’s history.

Since then, Infinity Ward has taken on player feedback, outlining changes fans can expect to see in the launch version of the game. In recent days, devs have also teased the return of two fan-favourite maps. Naturally, fans are hyped and with good reason it seems. Early impressions are hailing the campaign as “incredible.”

Take a look at Modern Warfare II's new third person mode below.

Those who have gained early access to the game have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts and the consensus is overwhelmingly positive. Klobrille wrote, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II campaign looks incredible on Xbox Series X, running at 120fps,” while CODMW2Informer added, “The Modern Warfare II campaign is beautiful. Filled with action and suspense. 10/10 from us.”

Dougdagnabbit said, “The Modern Warfare II campaign is honestly twice as good as Modern Warfare 2019’s.” DONPAPAJON1 added, “Gameplay: Best in the series with great water missions [...] Story: Better than MW 2019 with good characters you’ll like. Captivating plot towards the end.” Take a look at some more reactions below.

In case you missed it, it looks like Activision will be skipping a Call of Duty 2023 release in favour of a Modern Warfare II expansion. This week, developers revealed that they’re interested in a Ghost spinoff. Perhaps the two ideas could be one and the same.
