Our first major award of the The Game Awards has been revealed and despite some tough competition, the Best Performance winner has taken to the stage.
The Game Awards 2025 is in full swing and the Best Performance winner has been announced.
Winning for her role as Maelle in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, English actress Jennifer English has won the coveted award against some tough competition.
Thanking the neurodivergent community in her speech, English dedicated her award to everybody who feels like life is “stuck on hard mode”.

English went up against fellow Expedition 33 actors Ben Starr and Charlie Cox as well as Erika Ishii from Ghost of Yōtei, Konatsu Kato from Silent Hill f, and Troy Baker from Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
English also took to the stage to thank her Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 colleagues as well as her girlfriend and fellow actor Aliona Baranova, and it was a touching speech to say the least.
There is no denying that English had some tough competition when it came to this category with praise for the rest of the Clair Obscur crew as well as for Japanese actor Konatsu Kato and award-winning actor Troy Baker.
However, English has had a plethora of incredible roles under her belt in recent years from Maelle to Shadowheart in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Her Diary Is Stacked
She will also take on the role of Gwendolyn in Tides of Annihilation which is expected to launch in 2026.

Based on Arthurian legend, the story will take place in a modern yet shattered London and follow Gwen as she fights alongside spectral knights to save her family and piece the world back together.
Last year saw actor Melina Juergens take away the coveted Best Performance award for her role in Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and so English joins a long line of incredible actors ranging from Christopher Judge to Neil Newbon, Mads Mikkelsen to Nolan North and Roger Clark who have taken home the trophy.
With English’s diary booked for the next few years, we can expect to see her on that The Game Awards stage again but for now, we congratulate her on her win.
