Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 came out on top at the 2025 Game Awards, after taking home a whopping nine gongs.
Last night (December 11), the 2025 RPG smashed records after receiving the most awards in the ceremony's 12-year history.
In an impressive turn of events, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 took home awards for the following categories: Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Game Direction, Best Score and Music, Best Independent Game, Best Debut Indie Game, Best Performance (Jennifer English), and Best RPG.

Most notably, the title took home the coveted Game of the Year, despite going up against incredible titles such as Hollow Knight: Silksong, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Donkey Kong Bananaza, and Hades 2.
"Well deserved," one fan wrote on Reddit. "Expedition 33 is the best RPG I have played in at least a decade."
Another agreed, "Absolutely deserved, this will go down as one of the best games I've ever played."
