Call Of Duty Players Wait Nervously As Release Day Change Rumoured

This would be a rarity!

Call of Duty players are sitting attentively, as the next entry in the long-running series could face a release date change.

Following almost every release, the Call of Duty series has often been a top seller across all available platforms for its respective year.

Whether it's the blockbuster single-player campaign, its vast multiplayer offerings or culling the hordes in Zombies, there’s often plenty of fun to be had, regardless of what might tickle your fancy.

Next month, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 comes our way, and unlike some of the most recent entries in the series, developers Treyarch and Raven Software are returning to a futuristic setting, for better or worse.

I don’t know if it's just me who may have missed most of it, but it feels like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 hasn't had quite as aggressive a marketing push compared to previous games.

Sure, we’ve had the recent multiplayer beta, as well as a few trailers for the multiplayer and Zombies. However, we haven't seen proper gameplay for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 single-player campaign, and its release is only a few weeks away.

Yet, despite details on the single-player campaign being quieter than usual (we know it will have co-op), it seems that if you had concerns that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 might be delayed, then fear not.

As reported by GameRant, according to Twitter user TheGhostOfHope, a leaker of video game information, rather than being delayed, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s release date might be brought forward a week instead of being pushed back.

“Seems like there’s some evidence of a potential release date change for Black Ops 7 where it could move up a week,” they tweeted. “Not sure if I will buy it yet, but it would be a pleasant surprise if it happens.”

If this happens, it would be the first game in the series to have its release date brought forward after its announcement. There have been rumblings that decisions like this have been made behind closed doors, but that’s mere hearsay.

Of course, the rumour of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 release date is unconfirmed, so we should take it with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. I guess we’ll find out in the coming weeks whether it will be released on 7 November.

As of right now, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be released on PC, PlayStation and Xbox on 14 November 2025. It will also be included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at launch.
