There’s nothing worse than a cheat which is why Activision is waging war against them. Cheaters have been plaguing Call of Duty for several years now, particularly in the free-to-play Warzone, but Activision have come up with a number of tactics to quell these party-poopers.
Last year, Activision released their Ricochet anti-cheat system and whilst they’ve continued to tweak it over the past few months, hackers are still finding a way around it. As such, new measures are needed to boost Ricochet's power and the latest tactic could leave cheaters gun-less and fist-less.

The new anti-cheat technique is very aptly named ‘Disarm.’ Removing a player’s ability to inflict damage, the measure does exactly what it says on the tin. It removes the player’s weapon which doesn’t necessarily have to be a gun. This also includes your fists, apparently.
Activision wrote “Today we’re sharing another mitigation technique from our toolbox: Disarm. Like the name implies, when cheaters are detected, we simply take their weapons away from them (including their fists).” They went on, “We don’t expect many clips of this to find their way online, but we have seen it in action and the reactions from cheaters are always priceless.” I don’t know about you but I’m quite curious to see such a reaction.
The developers went on to note that Ricochet will be used in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II in addition to Warzone 2.0. They said, “Selfishly, we can’t wait to see how Damage Shield, Cloaking, Disarm and our other tricks look in a modern setting,” so I guess Activision don’t want to totally get rid of cheaters. They just want to make them look stupid and I’m onboard with that.
