Each year, no matter what you think of the Call of Duty series, the next big release is always a huge deal and right now, you can play the latest game in the series, Modern Warfare III for free.

Multiple times a year, Activision launches a free-to-play Call of Duty weekend usually to help promote its latest multiplayer season of content and Modern Warfare III is no exception. However, you’re going to need to act fast if you want to check out what Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III has to offer.

Check out our interview with the Modern Warfare III developers below!

In my review of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III campaign, I said: “Call of Duty deserved much better than this churned-out disappointment. If you’re desperate for a bit of CoD this year, then you’ve probably already picked this game up.” Thankfully, despite what I think of the campaign for Modern Warfare III, there’s plenty of fun to be had with its multiplayer modes, especially when we get to play remastered maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009).

As detailed in a recent blog post, between now and Monday, 8 April 2024, you can download Modern Warfare III for free, and play nine maps and five multiplayer modes as well as its open-world Zombies. The nine maps that you can access this weekend at no extra cost include Skidrow, Satan’s Quarry, Tetanus and more. As for the five free multiplayer modes, they are Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Capture the Flag, Domination and classic Team Deathmatch.

If you’re yet to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III but have been tempted to, this weekend grants the perfect opportunity. What’s more, if you do decide to purchase the full game, all your multiplayer stats and unlocks will carry over and it’s currently discounted on some digital platforms.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
