We Got Bully Multiplayer Before GTA 6, Play Now

A Rockstar classic reborn an entire year before GTA 6

Rockstar OGs and gaming uncs as a whole can now enjoy an online multiplayer mode for Bully: Scholarship Edition, which should hopefully tide us over until GTA 6.

GTA Online may be Rockstar Games’ most popular multiplayer game, but that hasn’t stopped fans from craving online experiences in some of its older titles.

It’s been nearly 20 years since Bully came out, and while there’s still no sign of a sequel, fans have been keeping the game alive with mods and other custom content.

Bully Online, which was revealed earlier this year, is one such project. Building on the foundation of the earlier BullyMP, this mod adds far greater functionality and moddability to the Bully game engine.

Developed by a modder going by the name of SWEGTA, Bully Online features “60+ minigames, roleplay, freeroam, custom vehicles, restored beta content, map improvements, and easter eggs”.

Some of these minigames include races, fights, and other side activities which will earn you in-game money. Once you’ve earned enough cash, you can then spend it on the store to buy new characters to play as.

The addition of role play is a no brainer, considering how popular role playing servers are in GTA Online. This version will supposedly let you role play your life as a pupil at Bullworth Academy just like in the original Bully release.

I’m not sure if I’d want to relive my school days to quite the same effect, but more power to those who enjoy roleplaying servers.

As shown in the announcement video, Bully Online also features an Object Spawner, a highly advanced tool which lets you add new props and decorate the world of Bully with new detail.

The Object Spawner basically allows you to make custom maps, something that will probably be taken great advantage of by the community.

Custom game modes such as on-foot parkour races have already been teased, but there’ll likely be even more interesting things released as the tools develop over time.

Bully Online is available now as a free mod for Bully: Scholarship Edition on PC.

It’s an open-source mod, meaning that anyone can contribute to the mod’s development, provided they have the know-how.

It’s currently in early access, so more features will be added in the future. SWEGTA says there is “a lot of content we still want to get to in 2026, but we didn't want to hold the community back from seeing what we've been cooking anymore”.
