Bruce Campbell Responds To ‘Aquaman 2’ Amber Heard Replacement Meme

Bruce Campbell Responds To ‘Aquaman 2’ Amber Heard Replacement Meme

A viral internet post recently suggested that Bruce Campbell should replace Amber Heard in Aquaman 2.

As I’m sure you’re aware, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have been involved in a high profile libel trial. Given that Depp won the defamation case after contesting against Heard’s claims of domestic abuse, many have been calling for the actress to be axed from her role in the DC Aquaman film series.

Heard portrayed Mera in 2018’s Aquaman and is set to reprise the role in next year’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. During the trial, Heard claimed the role had been heavily pared back due to the case, but DC’s Walter Hamada later rebuked that saying it was actually due to Heard’s lack of chemistry with leading actor Jason Momoa.

We recently had the chance to speak to Star Wars' Jon Favreau who teased the future of the franchise.

Regardless, Heard still seems set to appear in the sequel in some capacity but many believe that she shouldn’t be allowed to return to the role. One petition arguing such a case has now reached over 4.5 million signatures.

A much stranger idea recently appeared on Twitter. A viral internet post suggested that a petition claiming that Evil Dead actor Bruce Campbell should replace Heard in the film had reached three million signatures. Unsurprisingly, the post was just a meme and such a petition doesn’t actually exist. This didn’t stop Campbell from weighing in on the situation though.

Responding to the suggestion, Campbell simply wrote “Send me a script.” Let’s face it, we’re not going to see Campbell appearing in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom but you’ve got to admit, Campbell and Momoa would make a pretty epic pairing, right?

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is currently slated to release on 17 March, 2023. Given the result of the trial, it remains to be seen if DC further edit Heard’s role as Mera.
