There is some bad news for fans of the Battlefield series after EA revealed it would be delisting some of the franchise’s titles in upcoming weeks.

First released back in 2002, the FPS series Battlefield has been a much-loved franchise in the genre and has welcomed over 12 mainline entries over the past 20 years.

Mainly focusing on online multiplayer, the Battlefield titles feature large-scale warfare and have welcomed some critically acclaimed entries over the years. However, for some fans, it is almost time to put down those weapons and say goodbye courtesy of upcoming delistings.

EA is no stranger to delisting some of its large library of games and this month will see Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, and Battlefield: Hardline all getting the chop for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users.

As of 31 July, these titles will be delisted which will make that the last day they can be purchased digitally.

However, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Battlefield 4 and Hardline will still be available but Battlefield 3 will be completely removed from console’s digital storefronts.

In good news, despite the titles being unable to be purchased after 31 July, its multiplayer modes will still be available until 7 November so you still have some time to enjoy the game.

As well as these Battlefield entries, EA is also set to delist other titles such as Super Mega Baseball 2, Disney Sorcerer's Arena, NHL 20 and Fifa 22 in the next few weeks.

Although this is bad news for fans of the aforementioned titles, it is worth remembering that EA will be making room for some new and exciting upcoming releases so it isn’t all doom and gloom!

In related news, a teaser for Battlefield 7 was recently spotted online and fans are getting excited.
