Battlefield 6 is now out in full across the world and millions of players are diving into EA’s latest FPS with rave reviews in tow.
With the Battlefield franchise having a bit of a crisis with the launch of Battlefield 2042 back in 2021, thanks to its numerous bugs and glitches that saw it almost unplayable for some, it seems as though EA has turned the tide with the launch of Battlefield 6.
The 18th major instalment in the beloved FPS saga was released in full just last week following a successful beta period earlier this year and it seems as though both critics and gamers alike are loving the new experience.
Our very own Olly Smith called Battlefield 6 “this year’s killer FPS” in his review.

“Overall, it’s the multiplayer that remains as Battlefield 6’s greatest strength, as it always has for this series,” he wrote.
“Well-designed maps and strong teamplay features make for interesting online rounds. This bleeds out into other aspects of the game; the gunplay, the weapon customisation, and the destruction mechanics. It’s punchy, direct, and exciting. It all feels carefully tuned to how players have wanted the game to be like since the golden era of the series.”
However, there is one setting adjustment that aims to make your time with Battlefield 6 all the more exciting.
The game offers players the chance to activate in-world voice chat. This will allow you to hear your friends based on their positions in the map and if you stray out of range from them, you will start to hear their voice over in-game comms.

Of course, you can head into a Discord call but this is a way to make the game feel even more authentic like you were actually needing to communicate in a war zone.
To find this, head to Battlefield 6’s settings and navigate to the audio tab.
Here you will be able to change your voice chat options to ‘in-world’ to experience the realistic way of communicating.
Don’t worry, this form of in-game communication will only allow you to hear friends you are queued up with, not your entire team.

This is a simple yet exciting touch from EA which will allow players to truly immerse themselves into Battlefield 6 and its high-octane gameplay.
It is no wonder that the hit FPS is already sitting at a 8.2 user score on Metacritic, after all.
